REGISTRATION

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT

Please read the section on Membership under the constitution to familiarise yourself with the full membership requirement.

1. Aspirant must be of Ghanaian background or a good friend of someone with a Ghanaian background.
2. Aspirant must be legally domiciled in Austria.

Three categories of membership are recognized.
1.Ordinary membership: open to Youth of Ghanaian background.
2. Honorary membership: open to Ghanaians and other nationals who have demonstrated interest in the GUY and / or in the promotion of educational and social contacts between Austria and Ghana. Honorary membership shall be conferred on the aspirant upon recommendation of the committee and majority approval of the membership at meetings.
3. Extra-ordinary membership: open to parents who are not qualified under 1. and 2.of this requirement but associated with the Ghanaian Youth and other educational groupings or bodies.

Admission to membership
a. This shall be declared at general meetings of GUY
b. Continued membership shall be dependent upon adherence and compliance with the spirit and letter of the Constitution.
c. Membership ceases as a result of personal withdrawal or proven misconduct or disqualification of grounds of non-compliance with the Constitution.

As a youth group the support of the society and benevolent organisations are very important to our development. In this regard we humbly request the kind support of the Ghana Union, our parents, benevolent organisations and the general society at large to help us in the achievement of our aims and objectives.

The following areas are of particular importance to us:
1. Membership - Parents are encouraged to allow their children to join us in order to form a solid peer-support group.
2. Members are encouraged to pay their dues promptly to enable the smooth running of the group.
3. Members are encouraged to participate fully and enthusiastically in all programs and activities.
4. Donations of any kind are welcome from all quarters of the society.
